we have a small backyard and when we got rid of an ailing pine tree, it opened up. now it looks a little bigger with a good amount of sunshine filtering through. shortly thereafter, a long neglected shrub nestled close to the back sidings began to flower. it is called japanese viburnum, a shrub with fragrant tiny white flowers that come in clusters. this scented beauty blooms early in the spring. yesterday evening, jun, tj and i were spending some quiet time in the swing enjoying the light sweet fragrance wafting gently in the breeze.
