it seems like yesterday that jun and i drove to mundelein to meet beto for the first time. he came from tucson, arizona where he had a one year pastoral residency before coming to mundelein. what seems like yesterday was in fact four years ago, when beto entered usml as a pre-theology seminarian.
during those four years, he has been to so many places. places that are both near and far, across the land and across the seas on both sides of the globe that includes the philippines, bolivia and the holy land. most of these travels are part of his formation and requirements as a seminarian.
early this week, he drove to wisconsin for his clinical pastoral education (cpe). jun and I drove as well to make sure he sits well in his new home for the next eleven weeks. shortly after that, he will be entering his last academic year and by the time we knew it, he’ll be done with his masters in divinity at mundelein.
truly, time flies.
