treasured and loved

father rey called very happy that his community’s first filipino mass and santracuzan were a success. this is also a start of a monthly filipino mass in his parish. a wonderful and great accomplishment of someone who is just celebrating his first year anniversary as a priest next month. we fondly reminisced his seminary days at the catholic theological union (ctu) here in chicago and the many get-togethers in between. shortly after his graduation, he was assigned in fresno, california where he is currently serving. how time flies!

early in the spring was the first time he flew back to chicago as a priest. it was a whirlwind trip but he managed to squeeze a few hours to visit. father tirso and wilbert also came. it was a wonderful reunion and celebration at the same time. in his homily, he expressed his gratefulness for the gift of family and friends that helped foster his vocation and continue to journey with him. there were tears of joy that evening. we told him that he is treasured and loved.

thank you God for the gift of father rey.
