me checking out the catch for the day, san fabian

shores of san fabian; moi checking out the catch of the day

while chatting on the phone with family back home, the conversation flowed into local destinations for mini-getaways. of interest is a coastal place that was described picturesque butter-sand beach not too far from home. still virtually unknown, yet offer the same ambiance, if not better, than some of the popularly sought-after locations. expected are less amenities in these virgin territories but privacy and seclusion are more favored depending on what you’re looking for in a vacation.

after our conversation, i’m suddenly dreaming of the philippines. dreaming of a vacation and longing for a favorite getaway – the sea close to my ancestral home.

every time i am home, i’m out early wading in the warm waters of san fabian, a coastal town in my home province along the china sea. except for a few fishermen and their catch, this beautiful sandy stretch is deserted and empty. sometimes jun and i get on a motorboat for a pleasurable morning ride along the coast dotted by charming fishing villages lined with coconut trees. for me, simply being out there is heavenly.

i love the feel and the sound of the sea. it is very calming and the pristine waters have this healing effect on me. when the gentle waves caress my feet, i feel love all over. its warmth soothes my soul. i feel renewed and all my woes gone away as soon as the waves go back out to the sea.

oh i miss the shores of san fabian terribly.

I simply love this set. I haven’t been home to Pangasinan for almost three years. The first pic is so lovely.
