happy thanksgiving

thanksgiving day is tomorrow and we are having potluck with family and friends, each bringing a favorite dish or two.

i have been counting the days and very much looking forward. it is a special gathering with family and friends but this thanksgiving will be more meaningful because our daughter and son-in-law are flying in from california. we will be a complete family. we are all excited, even the precious one jumps with glee. my heart is overflowing with joy. what a blessing!

time and again, i remind myself that thanksgiving is truly a celebration and much, much more. it is a celebration of god’s love and providence. a special time to reflect and be grateful for HIS presence in our lives through wonderful people around us and the countless blessings we continue to receive. for being able to respond to the call to love and make a difference no matter how small.

when we gather, we will remember in our prayers those who have been affected by haiyan. taking comfort that despite the unimaginable loss, the filipino heart, though shattered and hurting, is grateful. grateful for the gift of strength and hope and to the world’s magnanimity and generous support.

from my family to yours, happy thanksgiving!

I can’t remember if I gave you the link to my new blog, which replaces the ‘Hammock Lady’ one.
