more at the botanic garden

in addition to the orchid show, we explored the botanic garden arid greenhouse. we enjoyed the beauty of desert and tropical plants. plants that thrive well in harsh, dry environment and very little rain.

it was a delight to see some of what we have back home like the cacao, banana and philippine lime trees. the banana fruits in multi-tiered cluster and its offshoot flower spike known as banana heart caught the curiosity of many.

here are a few snapshots of interesting and lovely species, some unique to different parts of the world.

      thank you 🙂 it was a lovely visit and time with family. my cousin has a couple or cacao trees in her backyard so i know a little bit about it.

    same here, this is the first time I have seen one. Love the Philippines’ banana tree with the cluster of bananas and banana heart and our kalamansi! The different variety of cactuses are awesome!!!
