i’ve long heard of the transfiguration chapel on the hills of caleruega as a dream wedding destination. a friend wanted to renew her wedding vows there but reservations take almost a year.

the caleruega spiritual complex, run by the dominican order, is on its own, away from the noise and madness of a metropolis. we explored the lush grounds, beautifully landscaped gardens, and visited the chapel on top of the hill.

one can’t help but pray or simply commune with nature and enjoy the tranquil and lovely surroundings. some spots offer a panoramic view of mount batulao or a picturesque sloping hummocks that is truly breathtaking.

I’ve blogged about Caleruega more than I care to admit, it is one of my favorite places. We always stay overnight every time we go there. The pond at Kampo Arriba is so beautiful at night.
