lovely afternoon

what a lovely afternoon at mallard lake!

hubby and i along with our precious one drove to our favorite retreat. the sun was still up, bright and sunny even at past seven. the sky was clear, nary a cloud just a soft breeze.

mallard is coming back to life. the trees are no longer bald. the leaves are out in different shades of green. pink and yellow blooms of spring and white dandelions dot the ground.

the lake was calm, a few fishermen along the shore hoping for some catch. our precious one got busy picking up sticks in between walking and running had a lot of fun. others like us, simply took a stroll, enjoyed the scenery in the late afternoon sun.

sunset was peaceful and quiet. we lingered β€˜til dusk.

thank you, Sue! not sure if they’re canadian geese – we try not to get close; they’re not shy at all πŸ™‚

Well my guess by the looks is that they are. If they are used to being fed then they really will approach. Here in Calgary it is unlawful to feed them.
