rose of sharon

this attractive flowering bush is hibiscus not a rose. it is easy to grow, maintenance free and self-sows. never pruned, it is towering to more than eight feet now so i call it the rose of sharon tree. it is happy where itโ€™s at getting enough full sun, free of obstruction. it yields plentiful pink single petal blooms providing the backyard nice color all summer โ€˜til the first frost.

It is pretty. I especially like the color and it gives some relief to the other plants when they get tired blooming.

  4. Does this plant come in a purple variety too?
