summer won’t be quite complete without an afternoon at the ravinia festival, chicago’s outdoor music park. a summer home of the chicago symphony orchestra, ravinia offers outdoor concerts and performances from june to september every year. top of our list this season is tony bennett but his performance date didn’t quite work with us.
last sunday brought us together at ravinia for vienna waltzes and dances by the chicago symphony orchestra: bramwell tovey, conductor and miriam fried, violin. it was a wonderful time of music spent with family and friends. thank you to dear rochelle, doting daughter of the abrazaldo’s who didn’t join but packed delightful food and wine for us. how sweet is that! the weather was simply gorgeous, cool and breezy. it was a perfect afternoon at the park. capping the performance was an old time favorite: strauss’ on the beautiful blue danube waltz. it was pure delight.
