after the storm

we had ten inches of snow from the blizzard last weekend.  some parts of chicago had much more.  o’hare international airport recorded more than 19 inches causing cancellation of thousands of flights across the nation.

but before the chaos, the mess, plowing and shoveling, there was an absolute peace.  there was calm.

after the storm in my little corner of the world, when all seem motionless, i managed to get out of the house, just a couple of steps past the front door.  it was a glorious morning and right before me was the beauty of the season – peaceful and unruffled.   the trees with all its branches and twigs were peppered with snowflakes.  the pond and the cul-de-sac all blanketed with snow was simply beautiful.   it was a sight to behold.  pristine and divine. magical even.

Incredibly beautiful, Lola. Sorry to hear about the storm, seems like one after another… As cold as it is, you managed to take beautiful photos and didn’t have problem to click. Love the first and third.

Snow does have that magical beauty about it, not quite as much when one is shoveling. 🙂

I’m not a fan of cold weather one bit, but that is some great looking snow. So white it seems almost shiny and sparkly. Woweee…hope you got out even a few more steps and built a snowman 🙂
