desert getaway

spring break 2015

spring break 2015

our daughter asked us for places to visit while in southern california.  we told her we want to go somewhere warm. she took it at heart and booked us for three days and two nights at a resort & spa nestled in the heart of the desert, dotted with palm trees against a backdrop of majestic mountains.  this lovely oasis has more than 350 days of sunshine in a year with spring temperatures averaging in the mid-80s.  dry desert heat, blue skies and lots of palm trees.

main attraction for our little big guy was the resort’s splashtopia, a two-acre water playground that features water slides, cliff-side jacuzzi, fountains and sprinkles and the 450-feet lazy river. what an endless fun for TJ! we played in the water to our hearts content. except that i didn’t go in the water slides, we were all in there for the fun. it was a blast!

TJ and i slept in while father and daughter played golf.  the course, on gentle rolling terrain, winds through the resort property.  the fairways dotted with palm trees with amazing views of the mountains.  hubby rang me up while they were right across our room for some snapshots. later, we met up at the palm’s café for breakfast.

saved for the best was at the spa for mother & daughter pampering and bonding.  there, a steam room, sauna and hot tub await. the hot-stone massage was simply divine!

thank you P for a such a wonderful time! and thank you to the One whose love is lavish and constant.

Amazing place, lovely captures but the most important thing is spending time with the family. That splashtopia is like the Splash Islands in Laguna.

  3. Wow, that looks like a place to relax and marvel about life, like you did.

What a wonderful and enjoyable holiday you had with your family, Lola. The big little boy sure looks happy to be splashing about in the pool. Looks like he doesn’t want to get out. Haha, how cheeky of your husband to wake you and ask for shots when they were golfing outside your room 😀

  8. What a lovely place, Lola. We once found ourselves in Palm Springs, whilst doing a road trip. It was mid summer, and really hot and humid. I think you picked a great time of year to visit. Lovely photo of you and your daughter. 🙂 xx

thank you so much, Sylvia 🙂 the lady at the spa said summer can be extremely hot. winter is the best time in palm springs. we’re thankful the weather was just gorgeous while we were there. 🙂
