spring blooms

it is springtime!

the crabapple tree is abloom.  this all-year round delight is my favorite tree in our backyard.  it renders a spray of pearly white clustered flowers in the spring, provide shade during summer and food for our winged friends in the fall.  in the winter, it can be a stunning sight after a fresh snowfall.

an attention-getter that never fails to render such lovely flowers is the bleeding heart.  it is a string of pink heart-shaped flowers in an arched stem.  it is the first to bloom in our little garden.

and of course there is the japanese viburnum, a shrub that yields white dainty flowers so fragrant you simply cannot ignore.

thank you God for spring!

That crab apple tree is truly lovely. I have bleeding hearts too but not as gorgeous as yours, they’re in a shade of white with red blooms at the tip.
