thanks to Aletta of nowathome who invited me to take part in the five photos, five stories challenge. here’s my entry for day #1: st mary basilica in krakow
Jo of restlessjo recently posted a beautiful narration of her window gazing in krakow. Jo has gorgeous photos and one really stood out. it looked so familiar. that prompted me to search in my library where i found pictures i took at the same place, the main market square, during a whirlwind visit in krakow three years ago.
i was there november and although it did not rain that day, it was a bit gloomy and chilly as you can see in my picture. what i remember most though was spending time inside st mary basilica just adjacent to the main market square. st mary is famous for it large gothic wooden altarpiece carved by veit stoss, a renowned german sculptor. it is exquisitely beautiful. every hour, you can hear from the main square a trumpet signal played from the top of the basilica’s two towers.
this challenge is quite simple: “post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. it can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge”.
for this week, i nominate Lou of taking a deep breath to join. no obligation of course; only if you want. 🙂
