thank you to Aletta of nowathome who invited me to take part in the five photos, five stories challenge. here’s my final entry, day #5.
budapest is enchanting, a gem that lies on the banks of danube. hilly buda on one side of the river and pest, plain and flat, on the other. we had mass at st. stephen’s basilica, named after hungary’s first king whose right hand is housed in a reliquary. had a city tour, stopped at heroes’ square and spent the afternoon at the fisherman’s bastion atop castle hill.
from the bastion, where this photo was taken, is a spectacular view of danube river, bridge and the parliament. nearby is the beautiful st matthias church, in its glory and splendor. we shopped at quaint shops and browsed on hungarian embroidery and local handcrafts. in the evening, we sailed along danube overlooking the city bathed in floodlights.
this challenge is quite simple: “post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. it can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge”.
anybody can join. no obligation of course; only if you want. 🙂
